Prem Prasad Adhikary

Prem Prasad Adhikary, an alumnus of Produire au Sud and the Busan Asian Film School, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Film Studies. In 2017, he co-founded Simal Cinema, a boutique film production company in Nepal, with the goal of discovering and promoting new cinematic languages and voices from the region.
His producer credits include; The Witness Tree (2023) short fiction by Niranjan Raj Bhetwal premieredat BUSAN, Rotterdam and Clermont Ferrand, A Bleak Home (2023) by Bidushi Giri Premiered at MAMI Mumbai Film FF, Junko (2021) short fiction by Minsho Limbu screened at Fribourg, Torino, POFF Shorts Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival, Washington DC International Film Festival, and won couple of awards including Best film, Best directing, and Best cinematography at Nepal International film festival,Early Bird and Linz International Short film festival. The Mirage (2021) short fiction by Santosh Dahal screened at Raindance Film Festival, Dhaka International Film Festival, MARTOVSKI- Belgrade documentary and short film festival, won best narrative award at Nepal America International Film Festival. Divination (2021) short fiction by Gopal Acharya screened at Film School Fest Munich and London Short Film Festival. Confusion (2020) short fiction by Aashuka Aryal screened at Short Mexico, Philadelphia and Tasveer South Asian Film Festival.
He has completed his upcoming short films, Summer of Goodbyes and has begun submitting them to various international film festivals. He is also working on his upcoming short film, Shruti, which is currently in post-production.
He is currently developing his debut feature, The Flowers of Wild Sugarcane, selected at Busan Asian Film School, 2022, Korea.
