Nawa Nidhi Dahal

Nawa Nidhi Dahal was born in Khotang, eastern Nepal in July 1, 1989. After the completion of Bachelor of Arts in Film Studies in 2014, he decided to work as a producer. He set up his production company Simal Cinema and started with student short films.   In 2016, he produced Sunil Pandey's 'The Eternal Journey'. The film received a warm response from the festival circuit having received the highest prize in some of them. To continue his passion, he produced another short film in 2018 called 'The Remains' directed by Manoj Babu Panta which  travelled around the globe in different film festivals and receiving major awards. His another effort as a co-producer, 'Song of Clouds', a short film by Ankit Poudel, was world premiered in Sundance Film Festival 2020. He worked as a creative producer in 'One Night in Kathmandu', the debut fiction feature by Mohan Rai was world premiered in 24th Kolkata International Film Festival and travelled to other dozen film festivals and grabbed awards in few of them. His recent effort as a producer, 'Baghthan' was world premiered in the 51st International Film Festival Rotterdam.   He is the alumnus of Busan Asian Film School (AFiS). He attended Locarno Open Doors Lab in August, 2018 and Produire Au Sud Workshop in November, the same year. He also completed the 6 week residential workshop of Global Media Makers in November, 2019.   He co-wrote short screenplay along with Minsho Limbu titled 'Summer of Goodbyes' which was selected in the Pitching Lab of the 45th Drama International Short Film Festival 2022 in Greece. He is currently developing Manoj Babu Panta's debut feature; 'The Land of Ancestors' as a producer and his own short film; 'Nitya Nutan' as a writer-director.
